The Lowndes County Schools System is currently running a Dell/EMC VNXE 3200 storage area network(SAN). We are currently running VMWare Essentials Plus on 3 Dell servers to support about 45-50 virtual servers. We are looking at the possibility of migrating to Microsoft HyperV. The VNXE has reached end of support/end of life and we are looking to replace it with a unit that will provide for additional storage and speeds. The Dell server R740s are in need of replacing. We are wanting to keep storage and servers separate, not a converged architecture, but we would entertain a converged proposal. We have about 20TB of usable storage on the existing SAN. We would like to be able to grow to about 30TB of usable storage on the replacement of this unit. The existing SAN has 5 200GB SSD drives that provide caching for additional performance. The existing unit has 36 1.2TB drives running in a combination of raid 6 and raid 10. We are looking for either a Dell or HP solution for this proposal.
