A. Maintain Underwriter Laboratories (UL) certification of “fire extinguishing system(s) identified in Health and Safety Code Section 13195 and shall incorporate by reference the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 25 Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance of Water-Based Fire Protection System (2013 edition), including Annexes A, C, D, and E, as amended by the Office of the State Fire Marshal”. B. Test and inspect fire system devices annually, including functional tests. C. Quarterly inspections to be performed on flow switch on riser, per NFPA 25. Testing to include load test on battery. D. Per NFPA 25, Attachment 1, Annual and Quarterly Maintenance, Table 5.1.1.2: Summary of Sprinkler System Inspection, Testing and Maintenance. E. Per NFPA 25, Attachment 2, Annual and Quarterly Maintenance, and five (5) year inspection. Table 6.1.1.2: Summary of Standpipe and Hose Systems Inspection, Testing and Maintenance. F. Contractor shall ensure there is a 10% surplus of each variety of sprinkler heads in the inspected buildings. These shall be stored near the Control Box. G. Testing to be scheduled in advance with the CHP on-site contact. Documented test results to be provided to the CHP on-site contact, and sent to CHP Facilities Coordinator at: California Highway Patrol - Facilities Section Attention: Border Division Analyst 601 North 7th Street Sacramento, CA 95811 Documentation to include make, model, and serial number of the fire sprinkler equipment. H. Maintenance shall be performed by: 1) Qualified State of California Contractors State Licensing Board C-16, Fire Protection Contractor, as defined in subsection (b) of Section 7058 of the Business and Professions Code or; 2) Qualified California State Fire Marshal Licensed A (Type 1) Concern or; 3) Qualified California State Fire Marshal Licensed A (Type L) which allows the building owner or lessee who have trained and experienced employees to: a) Conduct annual testing and maintenance of wet pipe sprinkler systems, standpipe systems, or private fire service mains in structures or properties they own or lease; b) Individuals who possess the California State Fire Marshal Weekly Fire Pump Test Certificate, Section 905, Title 19, CCR and are employed by a Type L Licensed Company/Concern. I. Provide preventative maintenance service to include checking the fire extinguishing system, sensors, and the back-up battery if applicable. J. Contractor shall be in compliance and accountable to the Laws and Regulations for Automatic Extinguishing Systems by the Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, Office of the State Fire Marshal Fire Engineering Division. K. Contractor will be required to contact the Area office at least one week in advance to schedule an appointment to perform the quarterly and/or annual maintenance services.
