Building D is located on Chattahoochee Technical College’s Marietta Campus, 980 South Cobb Drive SE, Marietta, GA 30060, facing Beech Rd SW. The project in Building D includes interior renovation of approximately 1,389 SF on the lower level of the existing Air Conditioning Technology classroom and computer lab to create a larger classroom and smaller storage room. The existing structure is Type IIB, 2-story CIP concrete structure, Existing Business occupancy, non-sprinklered, with a mix of CMU and metal stud/gypsum wallboard partitions. This renovation will convert the space into a larger, flexible classroom for 24 students and storage for teaching materials and trainers. Work includes selective demolition, construction of new metal stud partitions, interior storefront systems, solid core wood door and hollow metal frames, finishes, ceilings, and associated mechanical, electrical, and low voltage/audio visual systems alterations. New interior finishes include paint, carpet tile, rubber base, and acoustical ceiling tile. Furniture coordination will be with Owner’s furniture vendor. The building will be occupied during construction.
