Detailed Services Defined The University of Kentucky Facilities Management anticipates the purchase of uniform components equivalent to five (5) sets per employee, serving approximately 590 employees across multiple departments. While some departments may place one bulk order per year, other areas now place orders on an as-needed basis, in accordance with annual uniform allowances or individual employee needs. Optional uniform items are selected at the discretion of the employee. Color and style combinations (e.g., shirt/pant pairings) may be used to differentiate between task-specific groups. Final selections of style and color will be determined after contract award. Uniform Components • A standard uniform set includes: • One (1) shirt, blouse, or polo shirt • One (1) pair of work pants, cargo pants, or skirt Standard accessories include: • One (1) belt or suspenders • One (1) jacket with liner • One (1) pair of shoes or boots Optional items may include: • Lab coats • Smocks • Caps (e.g., baseball-style, toboggan) • Coveralls The frequency of uniform replacement (including footwear) is generally on an annual basis but may also be initiated by employees based on wear, damage, or changes in sizing.
