DPS is seeking bids for swift water rescue equipment for Trooper Trainees upon graduation from the Academy. Each recruit class is projected to contain approximately 200 recruits, with the exact quantity varying per graduation class. Each recruit will be issued a complete swift water kit that includes, but not limited to a personal floatation device vest, bump helmet, whistle, window punch/seat belt cutter, rescue throw bag, self-locking carabiner, and equipment bag. The swift water equipment is the same equipment that is utilized for training while in recruit school. The intent is for the equipment to be used when deployed to water rescue events after trainee graduation. The included items must meet the specifications of National Fire Protection Association NFPA 1006 and 1670 Swift Water Rescue Standards. The equipment has been selected for its quality, durability, and practicality in flood and swift waterrescue events. All items listed below (numbers 2-8) must be delivered in a complete kit.
