Florida uses a CoreOne software system provided by Trace First Limited through a contract with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). CoreOne is a proprietary system that records and manages animal health data. Trace First Limited and its subsidiaries also provide a web-based application called CVI Central. This is a proprietary system and subscribing customers are able to upload both paper and electronic Certificates of Veterinary Inspection to it. These documents are processed by CVI Central and transmitted to CoreOne via a proprietary and secure interface. The transmissions are received and processed by CoreOne, resulting in valuable traceability data being made available to the office of Florida’s State Veterinarian. CVI Central is the only system capable of such collection and transmission to CoreOne as the encryption keys used are the sole property of Trace First Limited. CVI Central is used statewide by the Division of Animal Industry, Bureau of Animal Disease Control staff for monitoring animal disease and animal health records in compliance with F.S. 570.36. Trace First Limited is a Northen Ireland Limited Company. It has a wholly-owned US subsidiary called Trace First, Inc. These are the only known entities authorized to sell and support Trace First, Inc. products such as CoreOne and CVI Central.
