The Town of Ayer Department of Public Works (DPW) is requesting proposals from engineering consultants to evaluate the condition, capacity, operation, and vulnerability of the Town’s wastewater pump stations, and to provide the Town with viable solutions to address existing defects and deficiencies. The evaluation to be conducted by the engineering consultant shall be comprehensive, including, but not limited to the structural, mechanical, architectural, safety, electrical, and process components of the pump stations. The consultant shall consider emergency backup power, operating capacity, communications, energy efficiency and the feasibility of system reconfiguration and pump station consolidation. After the evaluation is complete, the consultant shall provide the Town with a report documenting the findings of the evaluations and recommendations for next steps, including cost estimates and a suggested capital improvement schedule for the recommended improvements.
