Please note: This is a Sole Source Notification. Our current gas generators at all CBI-FS laboratories are manufactured by Peak Scientific. Our current service contract for these generators is managed by Peak Scientific. While we have not purchased new gas generators recently, Peak has replaced existing gas generators with new generators as a part of their service contract. Peak is the current vendor for all gas generators for the CBI-FS laboratories. Peak is also the vendor for our service contract for these gas generators. The gas generators provide gases such as Nitrogen, Hydrogen, and Air at specific flow rates and purities to highly sensitive laboratory instrumentation. This instrumentation is validated to specific requirements. It is critical to have redundancy across laboratories and equipment in the event a generator does not function as expected. If this request was not approved, the process would have to go out to bid and the end result may be a company and vendor that would deliver a product that is not comparable with our existing system. The new product would take months of validation to implement into our system.
