Bids shall be accepted from qualified, experienced and licensed general contractors to furnish all labor, supervision, equipment, supplies, tools, permitting, safety measures and all other necessary incidentals to excavate and remove sediment and aquatic vegetation, to re-establish permitted design profile and the design drainage capacity for both Ditch No. 3 & 5, within the limits identified in the bid plans. The excavated sediment shall be stockpiled to dry and subsequently spread/grade the dried sediment materials along the ditch side slopes and/or the berm areas within the project limits. The scope includes clearing any vegetation on the ditch side slopes, along the access pathways, and aquatic vegetation within the ditch which is required to facilitate sediment removal. The total length for rehabilitation is approximately 3,900 linear feet of Ditch No. 3 and 13,730 linear feet of Ditch No. 5, for a total of 17,630 linear feet. The aquatic vegetation and sediment stockpiles, after allowing to dry, are to be hauled offsite for disposal with approval by the CITY if the material cannot be reused within the project limits. Contractor shall be responsible for the maintenance of traffic; sediment & erosion control; maintenance of roadways and their access to maintenance crews; safety and security of the job site; and the staging areas. Site restoration includes proper grading and seeding of all disturbed areas for sod.
