The Office of Statewide Strategic Sourcing (“OSSS”), on behalf of the MDMR has issued this solicitation for the purpose of seeking bids from qualified and experienced contractors for herbicide treatment of invasive vegetation on 504.98 acres of Hancock County Marsh Coastal Preserve – Wachovia Tract during the growing season of 2025. The goal of this project is to protect and enhance the natural biodiversity of this Coastal Preserve through the reduction and suppression of undesirable invasive vegetation. Recent site monitoring data revealed that this parcel is home to thirteen (13) species of nonnative, invasive plants. Major habitat types found on this property include open canopy swamp, mixed bottomland forest and pine forest. Areas of similar infestation levels are grouped into fifteen (15) subunits to increase the efficiency of treatment. Some subunits are very lightly infested while others will require more treatment effort. A few, isolated, individual occurrences of invasive plants not recorded inside the sampling plots will likely be encountered. Detailed information about the invasive species populations and habitats found within each of the subunits are available in Attachment A – Treatment Subunit Datasheets
