MINIMUM GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS 1. Must meet U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) federal reference or equivalent methods RFPS-1006-145, RFPS-0498-118, or EQPM-0202-145. 2. Must allow for automated collection of multiple PM2.5 samples over a minimum of two weeks without operator interaction. 3. Must be programmable to allow for every day, 1-in-3 days, and 1-in-6 days sample collection. 4. Must have an operating range from 0 to 5000 micrograms per cubic meter. 5. Must be suitable for ambient sample collection without additional environmental temperature controls. 6. Sample must be collected on filter suitable for gravimetric, ion chromatography, energy dispersive x-ray fluorescence, and thermal optical analysis. 7. The Sequential Particulate Matter Sampler must include the following. A. Stand B. Pneumatically-activated filter exchanger in ventilated filter compartment C. Active volumetric flow control system D. Adapter to reduce flow to zero to check for leaks in the system E. Microprocessor with menu-driven software F. Display and keypad G. Ten filter cassettes for 47-millimeter filters H.
