a. Manhole # 2 at existing wye-connection north of the existing South Manhole. 1) Install one (1) manhole upstream of existing South Manhole to intercept wye connection. 2) Site restoration following work. b. Initial excavation for verifying ductbank location - Test Pit #1 for Underdrain Access Manhole #1. 1) Complete initial excavation adjacent to west side of the CDUV Building for Manhole # 1 access to Underdrain Lateral Pipe #1. Excavate test pits to identify utility and structure locations and conflicts, including 15kV electrical ductbank. Refer to Drawing C-100.00. 2) Summarize results for review by DEP prior to proceeding to the Work described in paragraph c below. 3) Stockpile excavated material temporarily upon removal. 4) Protect excavated area until backfill under Allowance A-1 is authorized or until Work described in paragraph c below commences. 5) Should results of Test Pit # 1 demonstrate that Manhole # 1 cannot be installed at the designed location, Contractor shall backfill and restore the area. c. Final excavation for accessing foundation drain - Test Pit #2 for Underdrain Access Manhole #1. 1) If Test Pit #1 indicates that Manhole #1 can be completed as designed, Contractor shall complete final excavation adjacent to west side of the CDUV Building for Manhole #1 access to Underdrain Lateral Pipe #1. Excavate deeper test pit to identify utility and structure locations and conflicts, including 144” raw water intake pipes, and connection to existing underdrain pipe network, and investigate underdrain pipe condition. Refer to Drawing C-100.00. 2) Summarize results for review prior to submissions for Manhole # 1 described in paragraph d below.
