The purpose of this Request for Proposal is to establish multiple contracts to provide services on an as-needed basis. Contracts will be for five (5) year terms, with an estimated total value of all contracts being $3,500,000. Any quantities listed herein are for proposal purposes only and represent King County's estimated annual requirements. The County will be neither obligated nor restricted to the quantities or locations indicated. The Program has multiple ridesharing commute options for the general public. The Program provides vehicles, staff support, maintenance, fuel, and insurance to groups who share rides from home to work, work to home, and community activities and events. All vehicles have a planned eight-year life cycle and are stored at a volunteer driver's home or community agency's designated vehicle parking area. The Program currently operates an active fleet of approximately 1,800 light and some medium-duty passenger vehicles. The majority of the fleet are light-duty passenger vehicles (Dodge Grand Caravehicles, Chevrolet Express vehicles), with some light-duty passenger sedans (Nissan Leaf), ADA-compliant passenger vehicles, and some medium body-on-chassis passenger vehicles (ADA-compliant). All vehicles receive preventative maintenance at 6,000 miles or six (6) month increments – whichever occurs first.
