The baling wire secured by this contract will be used by the Recycling Program to bale post-consumer paper, plastic bottles, steel & bimetal cans and old corrugated cardboard. The balers used are a MOSLEY Bulldog Baler with a Model #330 series US Wire-Tie System tying unit and an American Baler WB1028-150 with an Accent 470 Wire-Tie System. SIZE: The baling wire shall be 11 gauge, having a diameter of .118 to .123 inches, Grade 1060 continuous, Hi-Tensile wire. COATING: The baling wire shall have a Wiped, Galvanized Coating, Emulsive Overcoat of #22, or equivalent, industrial wax compound. NO OILED WIRE WILL BE CONSIDERED. ALL WIRE MUST BE WAXED. CAST: Welds shall be allowed so long as they are cleaned and dressed properly. CARRIER: Carriers shall have a 26 inch block. Coil weight shall be between 1200 and 2000 pounds. Coils shall have at least 15 inches of carrier exposed from top of wire to top of carrier.
