The University of South Carolina is seeking quotes from qualified contractors to furnish mowing services for the levee located at the USC River District Property. The contractor must furnish all labor and materials necessary to provide mowing services for the identified property located between National Guard Road and South Beltline Blvd in Richland County. The levee is 1.4 miles long and is an earthen-built levee system along the Congaree River. The general expectation is that the levee is cut at a desirable height of 3 inches. The levee crown, landside slope, and waterside slope will be bush hog/slope mowed and include a 15-foot-wide clearance along bottom and both sides of levee for future access to perform inspections, preventive maintenance, repairs, and replacement of components. The Contractor will provide all machinery, labor, supplies, and materials needed to perform services on the levee. The Contractor will provide a list of equipment, a mowing plan, and previous experience descriptions with mowing levees, slopes, embankments, or this type of work. All work shall be performed Monday through Friday. The contractor is not authorized to visit the property on weekends unless otherwise specified or requested by the CSC. For the purposes of this solicitation, the Contract Services Coordinator will be Chris Ferriell. In the event of his absence, Norman Stewart will be an alternative Contract Services Coordinator. Contact information for the CSC will be supplied to the contracted supplier once the contract is awarded.
