Purpose: The Idaho State Department of Agriculture (ISDA) is requesting quotes for (5) mid-size utility type all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) to be used for windrow bean inspections, soil sampling and potato inspections. These may also be utilized by the Invasive Species Division to transport employees between kayaking sites. The ATVs must accommodate use at very slow speeds and mid speed ranges in loose sandy soil, deep rills/corrugates (ditches), deep mud, thick weeds, and other varied terrain during ingress and egress. ISDA reserves the right to purchase up to one (1) additional ATV at the awarded price. • Quantity: 5, with the option to purchase 1 additional ATV at the quoted price • Description: Mid-size Utility Type – Will be used to perform off-road inspections on farm fields in conditions that may include: loose sandy soil, deep rills/corrugates (ditches), deep mud, thick weeds, and other varied terrain during ingress and egress. • Engine Specifications: Acceptable range for Engine Displacement: Minimum 400 cc, Maximum 450 cc. Liquid cooled engine with fuel injection is required. • 4 Wheel Drive with lockable front differential • Fully automatic transmission (Not semi-automatic/push button shifting) with selectable low range • Shaft driven: ISDA cannot accept chain-driven vehicles due to the work conditions in the field. • Independent rear suspension • Power steering • Instrument panel to include speedometer and odometer • Seat Height: Minimum 32 inches, Maximum 36 inches • Wet (Curb) weight (Includes standard equipment, required fluids, and a full tank of fuel): Minimum 575 pounds, Maximum 625 pounds. • Underbody skid plates • 2-inch receiver hitch/ball for towing on rear • Manufacturer’s Hardshell Rear Cargo Box: must be designed to fit the quoted ATV unit • Manufacturer’s Cargo Racks at front and rear: must be designed to fit the quoted ATV unit • Minimum tire tread depth: One inch (1”).
