A. Summary The scope of the work will include: • Creating a Township-wide IPMP that provides clear and specific instructions for the Township to follow. The specific scope of the work will depend on the number of parks and recreation areas that are within the Option the Township selects, as is set forth below in the Proposal Components section of this RFP. • Visiting each of the Township’s public parks and recreation areas that fall within the scope of the Option the Township chooses. • For each location visited, identifying the dominant invasive plants at that location, recommending a course of action to remove and/or control those invasive plants, recommending appropriate native plants to add or introduce once the invasive plants are controlled, and estimating the associated costs thereof. • Recommending the order in which the Township should implement the IPMP, in terms of both the locations and plant species. • Recommending appropriate training and/or additional staff needs for the relevant Township departments needed to manage invasive plants. • Recommending funding sources for implementation grants or other sources of funding to carry out the recommendations in the IPMP. • Meeting with stakeholders, including two (2) community meetings for Township residents, to receive input on the invasive plant problem in Abington Township. • Presenting the IPMP to the Board of Commissioners.
