Centerline and edge line markings (truck mounted work): The bid proposal shall contain all costs of labor, equipment, and materials, including paint and glass beads, for the application of four (4) inch wide double yellow lines, single yellow lines, single white lines, single white lines with thirty (30) foot skip, and dotted line extensions dividing multiple turn lanes. General Requirements A. All pavement markings shall conform to the specifications in the Manual for Uniform Traffic Control Devices for Streets and Highways, dated December 2023, published by the U.S. Department of Transportation, Federal Highway Administration and the Standard Specifications, dated March 2020 published by the State of Maine Department of Transportation. Sections 262.7 and other applicable sections. In case of a conflict with the standards the stricter standard shall apply. B. All markings shall be reflective with the use of glass beads. The long line truck shall automatically apply the beads. The contractor is responsible for all layout associated with the markings. The City has a book containing information for intersections throughout the city that is available to the contractor if desired. It shall be the responsibility of the contractor to ensure that the markings installed at each of these intersections conform to the current MUTCD, referenced above. All work shall be neat, correctly aligned with traffic, and uniformly spaced. C. Bidders shall be experienced companies having a minimum of two (2) years’ work in pavement markings for other municipalities of similar size. D. In addition to the proposal form, the bidder shall submit the following information at the same time as the proposal form: 1. A list of communities and contact persons where work of a similar nature was performed. 2. A list of equipment to be used, detailing types, sizes and capabilities.
