A Safe Environment: • Monitor district and report illegal behaviors to authorities. • Identify and report conditions and incidents that may impact public safety. • Provide directions, information and assistance to visitors, workers and residents. • Provide deliberate Safety Ambassador presence in MSD during active nightly hours. • Patrol parking lots and city-owned parking decks. • Communicate with Clean Team Ambassadors in the Raleigh Department of Transportation on any cleaning issues. Economic Development: • Retail recruitment and retention activities. • Actively engage in growing and enhancing MSD’s retail sector through efforts to attract new retail businesses. Activities should provide diverse retail options. Targeted Visitor Marketing and Communications: • Fund targeted marketing, communications and promotional efforts that benefit area retailers, restaurants and hotels. • Advertise, promote and showcase Hillsborough Street events, places and people. • Advertisement campaigns for holiday season, restaurant week, retail and others, as needed. Community Stakeholder Engagement and Conflict Resolution: • Work closely with MSD property owners and tenants to solve problems. • Serve as a convener and facilitator of complex and challenging issues in the district. • Provide liaison with city staff as required. • Provide mechanism for ongoing public feedback regarding services provided in MSD.
