Narcotics K-9 training, canine selection and canine equipment as detailed in this RFQ. Correctional Narcotics K-9 Training: The Corrections Division is seeking monthly specialized canine training services to support its correctional facilities in maintaining security, detaining contraband, and assisting officers in law enforcement operations. Services should also include reporting and documentation, and support and consulting services. Patrol Narcotics K-9 Training: The Patrol Division is seeking specialized canine training services twice a month to support its Vehicle Interdiction Pipeline Enforcement Resource (VIPER) team. RSO currently has six (6) K-9’s and their handlers assigned to VIPER who service highways throughout Riverside County. VIPER often operates under intelligence-based deployments requiring the ability to quickly respond to emerging trafficking needs. Training must be comprehensive, ongoing, and flexible to ensure operational effectiveness. A well-trained narcotics detection canine is a critical asset in the ability to intercept, identify, and dismantle drug trafficking organizations.
