The Comptroller of Maryland (COM) Field Enforcement Bureau (FEB) seeks to find a LIMS to house and manage all data related to the testing of motor fuels. The Agency’s current data will need to be migrated into the new LIMS platform from its current platforms of .csv files and paperwork. 2.2.1 Project Goals; 2.2.1.1 Turnkey implementation of a modern end to end Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) ; 2.2.1.2 A migration of existing data to a new LIMS platform that will be used to house and manage all fuel laboratory information. 2.2.1.3 Define and document a simplified and easy to understand information architecture that focuses on organizing, structuring, and labeling content in an effective and sustainable way. The goal is to provide a user-friendly application that is easy to navigate, with data located in one location rather than over multiple white paper, spreadsheets or cvs files, and to help users find information quicky and complete tasks easily. 2.2.1.4 Train COM staff to properly use the new LIMS platform. 2.2.1.5 Application, by the Contractor, of a structured project management approach that uses industry standard process and documentation to manage the project. 2.2.2 Existing Reporting; Current system involves making field reports by hand using a combination of .csv files and paper documents. Field paperwork to collect and identify motor fuel samples is currently captured by hand using a 3-part carbon copy lab sheet that doubles as a chain of custody. Analytical laboratory test results is currently captured by hand and documented in paper notebooks. Once the data is approved by manual quality control and quality assurance the data is then transferred to the lab sheets submitted with the samples. The lab sheets are then approved and stand as the final report of analysis.
