Vendor to oversee the development of a protocol and continuing medical education (CME) program focused on providing appropriate triage services for patients who present in the emergency department (ED) for a non-traumatic dental condition (NTDC), and for developing a referral process that can result in patients being seen within 24-48 hours of their ED visit for definitive oral health care. This program involves engaging with a workgroup of health care professionals who have not traditionally worked together before to develop new, more effective ways to address oral health problems seen in ED’s. It is expected that the protocol will include guidance on assessing patient oral health problems, appropriate prescription practices for pain relief and infections, and referral/care coordination processes. This vendor will also be expected to oversee the planning and implementation of program evaluation activities and identify successful referral models. Vendor will implement data collection processes to measure the impact of the ED diversion protocol on ED usage, number of referrals and use of the CME program and begin data collection. Vendor will also conduct 6-month and 12- month project assessments.
