Sandy City would like to contract with a vendor to furnish all labor, materials, tools and equipment necessary to complete the work of removal and replacement of concrete curb and gutter, sidewalk, drive approaches, waterways, frogs, ADA pedestrian ramps and other concrete items as necessary. Roadways are to be restored ready for asphalt (saw cut asphalt 18" wide by the length of the concrete removal (unless otherwise directed by the project manager or inspector), install and compact untreated road base, removal of all debris and obstacles, to include any and all tree related issues associated with installation of concrete to Sandy City's specifications (disposal of materials shall be at a legal landfill or recycle facility). Provide traffic control, sweeping, restoration of all existing roadway, driveway, wall structure, mailbox, landscaping, irrigation system, fence, utility or any other item disturbed by construction as described in the project plans and specifications. Pedestrian ramps are to be installed following Sandy City Standards and Specifications and ADA requirements. A Sandy City Public Works Inspector, or designated agent, is to inspect the installation of the ramps and will reject any that do not meet specifications. Access ramps for this project include the detectable warning surface (yellow), minimum of 4’ X 4’ landing and 6-foot wide triangle shaped wings/flared sections – all other concrete beyond this is itemized and included in the sidewalk quantities. Note pedestrian ramps and sidewalk in driveways are to be replaced with concrete 6 inches thick. The contractor is required to repair all landscaping and irrigation disturbed during construction to match or exceed existing conditions. Broken irrigation lines and/or sprinkler heads must be repaired within 24 hours. All disturbed landscaping must be repaired within 72 hours of completion of concrete work or as approved by the project manager. A certified irrigation technician must complete irrigation repairs. Turf replacement (sod) is considered part of the landscaping that the Contractor is required to repair due to construction activities. The Contractor will pay for any unnecessary landscaping damage caused by the Contractor’s negligence.
