1. Smoke Detectors – Service includes inspection, functional testing, cleaning and sensitivity testing for all control panel functions and peripheral devices utilizing only Underwriters Laboratory (UL) approved testing equipment and performed in accordance with NFPA 72, manufacturer’s instructions and authority having jurisdiction; 2. Heat Detectors – Shall be tested in accordance to NFPA 72; 3. Batteries – The Contractor shall test all lead acid batteries in the fire alarm system twice a year, as required by NFPA 72. Upon completion of each test, the Contractor shall provide a report to the center that delineates any batteries that failed. 4. Manual Pull Stations – Each shall be opened to verify operation, inspect electrical contacts, and ensure mounting; 5. Exit Signs – Shall be tested annually in accordance to NFPA 72; 6. Audible Signaling Devices – Each shall be tested at least once per year, to ensure proper operation and volume levels. After which, each initiating device shall be tested silently for minimal disturbance; 7. The initial test will be accomplished within two (2) months of the contract start date. The Contractor will test one quarter (1/4) of the fire alarm devices each quarter until all devices have been tested within one (1) year of the start date. a. The initial test will include testing one quarter (1/4) of the fire alarm devices. b. Three (3) months from the initial test, the Contractor will test an additional quarter (1/4) of the fire alarm devices. c. Six (6) months from the initial test, the Contractor will test an additional quarter (1/4) of the fire alarm devices. d.
