Preparing and delivering meals that will: • Supply quality meals using the approved menu that meets the dietary guidelines for Americans published by the Secretary of Agriculture, and proves 33 1/3% of the current Dietary Reference Intakes for adults (DRI) • Meals served comply with all federal, state and local health ordinances and nutrition program standards for food handling, processing, temperatures and food safety. (refer to nutrition standards) • Meals are to be sent to the site in bulk serving containers for congregate meals and/or individual packaging for home delivered meals. Serving utensils and any needed supplies will be included, along with supplies for coffee and tea • Meals served a minimum of 250 days; served Monday-Friday; require a minimum of 15 congregate meals to be served each day. Meal estimates for this contract include 10,000 Congregate Meals (9700 – Prepackaged or Bulk, 300 – Picnic), 40,000 – Home Delivered Meals. (20,800 – Prepackaged or Bulk, 400 – Picnic, 1200 – Shelf Stable/Emergency, 17,600 – Frozen)
