The consultant shall provide comprehensive landscape and irrigation design services to support new construction, renovation, and site improvement projects. Services shall be performed on an “on-call” or “as-needed” basis, tailored to the specific requirements of each project. The scope of work includes, but is not limited to, the following: 1. Landscape Design & Planning o Develop landscape design plans that integrate aesthetics, sustainability, and functionality. o Select appropriate plant materials based on climate, soil conditions, water efficiency, and maintenance requirements. o Incorporate native, drought-tolerant, and low-maintenance plant species to enhance environmental sustainability. 2. Irrigation System Design o Design efficient irrigation systems, including drip irrigation, sprinkler systems, smart water management technology, and recycled water irrigation systems. o Ensure compliance with local and state water conservation regulations, including adherence to Model Water Efficient Landscape Ordinance (MWELO) standards. o Prepare water usage calculations and irrigation schedules to optimize resource efficiency. 3. Hardscape Design & Site Enhancements o Develop hardscape plans, including walkways, plazas, seating areas, retaining walls, and decorative paving. o Integrate site furnishings, lighting, signage, and accessibility features into the overall landscape design. o Ensure hardscape elements align with project aesthetics, functionality, and long-term durability. 4. Cost Estimation & Feasibility Analysis o Provide detailed cost estimates for landscape, irrigation, and hardscape installations. o Evaluate material and labor costs to support project budgeting and feasibility assessments. 5. Construction Support & Compliance o Provide technical support during the construction phase to ensure design intent is maintained. o Conduct site inspections and verification to confirm proper installation of landscape, irrigation, and water components.
