1. Phase I – Pre-Design/Programming: A. Review with the Owner the scope of the project as necessary. Provide full project assessment to determine exact scope of work. B. The Consultant is to collect and review all relative existing building information provided by the Owner and field verify by inspection to confirm existing conditions. Record existing conditions as necessary to create drawings and specifications as required for the project. a. The County will provide applicable existing building documentation for the Consultant’s use. This includes original building plans specific to disciplines relevant to the scope of work. Documents consisting of construction and/or as-built drawings will be provided in various electronic formats including tiff, pdf and/ or AutoCAD format. C. Attend design kickoff and design progress meetings as necessary to discuss scope of work and progress drawings. Consultant is also expected to prepare meeting agenda and minutes for each meeting. D. Consultant is to start site investigations related to preliminary design including but not limited to; survey, subsurface investigations, environmental tasks, etc. which may be required by consultant, and any other tasks required by subconsultants. E. Deliverables: • Design Report (if applicable) • Preliminary Plans and Detail sheets • Preliminary Cost Estimate • Prepare design sketches, memoranda and graphic representations to represent design concepts to the Owner • Electronic and hard copies will be required of each of these items. 2. Phase II – Detailed Design and Bid Documents: A. Adjust the project documents as necessary following Owner review of design for each submission. Consultant to submit to EC DPW 75% and 100% progress documents for review and comment. B. Finalize any applicable site investigations described in Phase I above. C. Prepare Bid document package representing the established project scope, including but not limited to, complete construction drawings including but not limited to plans, sections, profiles, details, life safety/ code compliance plans and phasing plans as applicable as well as complete project manual (including Owner’s front end, bidding requirements, prevailing wage information, technical specifications, alternates, allowances). All documents are to be in compliance with the requirements of Erie County Department of Public Works (EC DPW), regulations and codes of the New York State Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code (current edition) and all authorities having jurisdiction. • It is intended that all contacts will be let at the same time with one (1) project manual unless noted otherwise within the RFP requiring the project to be more than one (1) phase. Consultant is to prepare bid proposal documents for separate bid proposal packages in conformance with Wick’s Law as applicable. This will include but not be limited to; preparation of ‘Summary of Work’ Specification within front end with references to scope of work specific to each contract, preparation of bid proposals in accordance with the project, coordination within the drawing set (notes, references, scope of work, etc.
