The Children’s Mental Health Matters Community Education Programs coordinates the Children’s Mental Health Matters Campaign which unites a statewide network of schools and community organizations to raise public awareness, reduce stigma and connect children and families with supports, resources and community by providing educational experiences for individuals throughout the State, including the Children’s Mental Health Matters Campaign and Healthy New Moms. This Campaign includes the development and distribution of the campaign poster, awareness events, a Children’s Mental Health Matters print web based outreach materials to providers, including Children’s Mental Health Matters publications and awareness materials to families across the State of Maryland. It provides support, resources and community education programs through the state wide promotion of the Healthy New Moms Program, including information on safe sleep and other healthy practices. The goal of these programs are to increase awareness of children’s mental health, decrease stigma around mental health and behavioral challenges and increase healthy practices and strategies by new parents.
