The Owner requires new data cabling and fiber to be installed throughout all district locations. All new category 6 (CAT6) cable and multimode fiber optic cable must be installed per the locations shown on the provided drawings. The provided materials list is an Owner provided estimate of counts and footages and includes all sites. Respondent’s price will include, but is not limited to the counts, quantities, and footage. All CAT6 and fiber runs shall be tested with test results provided to the district upon completion. All installed cable is to be concealed the contractor will supply necessary pathways, raceways, jacks, and patch panels. This project does not require any new underground conduit. The Contractor’s price will include cutover and testing of equipment. FIBER A new 6-strand multimode fiber optic cable will be installed at the MDF in each school and run to each IDF location shown on the provided maps, Attachment E. Fiber will be terminated by means of fusion-spliced pigtail and placed in specified housing. COPPER – CAT6 The Owner requires one new CAT6 cable installed from each IDF location to each speaker location listed on the list provided in Attachment A. A total of 178 runs. The existing speakers and clocks will be removed by District staff. DETAILS: 1. Run new fiber from the MDF at each school to each IDF. 2. All copper cables shall be CAT6. 3. Run CAT6 cable from each IDF to the speaker locations listed in Attachment A. The cable will terminate with an RJ45 Jack in the existing speaker location. 4. The speaker & clock units Type 1, 2, & 3, as depicted in Attachment I, are wall-mounted and have a box in the wall with existing conduit or raceway on the wall. The existing conduit or raceway should be used for the CAT6 cable runs when possible. 5. Attachment A = lists the rooms at each school and the corresponding data drops, a total of 178. 6. Attachment B = shows the path of the underground conduit at SHES. 7. Attachment C = shows the path of the underground conduit at CELC. 8. Attachment D = shows the path of the underground conduit at JMMS. 9. No drawings are available for the conduit at BOES, but it does exist and has plenty of room for additional fiber or CAT6. 10. Attachment E = location of MDF, IDF, & electrical rooms/panels. 11. Attachment F = count of switches at each IDF & MDF location. 12. Attachment G = fiber equipment manufacture & part number that shall be used. 13. Attachment H = location of CAT6 drop in each school’s admin office & the DO. 14. Attachment I = photos of typical speakers or speaker & clock combinations. 15. Replace the patch panels at each MDF and properly label them, handwritten labels are not acceptable. 16. Cable at all IDFs, MDFs, & patch panels must be organized & tied, leaving a clean look. 17. Rooms with drop ceilings – run the CAT 6 cable above the ceiling tiles or use existing raceways. 18. Rooms without drop ceilings – use a raceway in the room to run the CAT6 cable to the final location. 19. All cables shall follow the existing cable pathway when they are available. 20. Work shall start after June 8, 2025, and be completed before July 31, 2025. 21. Must include a 15-year warranty on materials and one one-year warranty on labor.
