The CDFW seeks a Permittee who can conduct a vegetation disposal operation on the Premises that will be consistent with the overall goals of managing habitat for Aleutian Canada Goose and Roosevelt Elk, controlling invasive plant species, and fuel load for fire resiliency. The long-term objective of the CDFW for the LEWA is to use vegetation disposal activities to encourage and support foraging habitat, managing invasive species, and fuel load for fire resiliency. The broad management goal of the Premises is to provide habitat for waterfowl and Roosevelt elk. Grazing management will be used with the specific goals of: Optimizing foraging habitat for Aleutian Canada Goose and Roosevelt elk Managing invasive species including tansy, scotch broom, other invasive annual grasses and emergent wetland vegetation to maintain a diversity of forage options and remove decadent thatch for wildlife species; and Reducing the fuel load for fire resiliency.
