The proposed Phase 6 Project limit is from near the US 101/SR87 interchange to the US 101/SR 85 interchange in south San Jose, conforming to the Phase 5 express lanes on US 101. The Phase 6 Project study limits can be seen in Appendix D – Project Location Map. The exact location of logical terminus near SR 87 will be analyzed as part of the Phase 6 Project’s development process. The Phase 6 Project will focus on the following: • Conversion of the existing HOV lanes to express lanes in both directions of US 101 from near US 101/Taylor Street interchange to US 101/SR 85 south interchange in south San Jose; • Addition of a second express lane in both directions of US 101 from approximately US 101/SR 87 Separation to US 101/SR 85 south interchange; • Addition of an auxiliary lane on northbound US 101 between Old Bayshore Road and North 1 st Street. • Widening of the Coyote Road Undercrossing (37-0344) and Yerba Buena Road Undercrossing (37-0409) bridges to accommodate the added second express lane. • Modification to bridge abutments at: Tully Road Overcrossing, San Antonio Street Overcrossing, Santa Clara Street Overcrossing, Julian/McKee Overcrossing, North San Jose UP, 10th Street Overcrossing, Route 87/101 SEP, and Junction 87/101 SEP, as necessary.
