1. The Contractor shall take all precautions necessary to protect all existing landscaping, sidewalks, trails, buildings, vehicles, utilities, equipment, etc., in the area where the work is being done or that may be located adjacent to or in-route across County property to the job site. The contractor shall rebuild, restore, and make good at own expense, all injury and damage to same which may result from work being carried out under this contract. 2. The Contractor shall not park or drive any vehicles or equipment beneath the drip line of on-site trees and shrubs. The Contractor and employees shall not park on unsurfaced property and shall not drive vehicles across County land, unless it is directly necessary to deliver materials to the job site. 3. The Contractor shall take all necessary precautions to ensure the safety of any pedestrians during the demolition, construction, and clean-up operations. The Contractor shall maintain and keep in good repair the work intended under these plans and specifications and shall perform all necessary repair, construction, and renewal to the date of acceptance by the owner. B. The owner does not assume any responsibility for any public utilities that are not shown on plans. C. The Contractor shall be responsible for the protection of unfinished work and shall be responsible for the safety of individuals using the unfinished equipment. The Contractor shall, at his own expense, furnish and erect such bridges, barricades, fences, lights, and danger signals, and shall take such other precautionary measures for the protection of persons, property and the work as may be necessary. D. The Contractor shall be responsible for all damage to work due to the failure of barricades, signs, and lights to protect it, and when damage is incurred, the damaged portion shall be immediately removed and replaced by the Contractor at his own expense. The Contractor’s responsibility for maintenance of barricades, signs, and lights shall not cease until the date of issuance to Contractor of owner’s acceptance of the project. E. The Contractor shall be responsible for removal, hauling, and disposal of all debris and unusable material from proposed construction area and designated sites. The Owner shall retain the right to any existing materials deemed to have value. F. The Contractor shall be responsible for inspection of site, to verify the completion of all work as described in the specifications. G. The Contractor shall furnish and supply all supervision, equipment, and labor necessary to perform excavation, grading, backfill, compaction, and stock piling of material as specified herein and on the plans.
