1. These services shall be performed for the LTU – Watershed Management Division in cooperation with individual property owners. 2. All recipients of these services must own property within the target area (Attachment A). Average lawn size in the target area is 3,000 square feet. 3. Minimum of 1000 square feet of non-waterwise lawn must be replaced with waterwise lawn, or a combination of waterwise lawn and landscaping. When included as part of the project, waterwise landscaping must cover a minimum of 100 square feet. 4. Contractor shall supply all labor, materials, and tools necessary for the installation of waterwise lawns and/or landscaping at location(s) to be determined, for the term of the contract. 5. Contractor shall provide a quote for each project that includes project type(s) and square footage of turfgrass to be replaced with waterwise lawn and/or landscaping. 6. Selection of turfgrass or plants should be based on exposure and other growing conditions at the site. Appropriate turfgrasses or alternatives include buffalograss, tall fescue, fine fescue, and bee lawns. Appropriate waterwise landscaping includes a matrix of droughttolerant forbs and grasses (Watershed Management Division for a list of acceptable plants). 7. 3” to 4” pot plants are allowed to save on costs for waterwise landscaping. 8. Hardwood mulch may be used in areas with waterwise landscaping. 9. Contractor shall obtain final approval from Watershed Management prior to construction. 10. The City or Contractor may terminate the contract at any time without cause by providing written notice thereof to the other party. 11. The number of project installations is dependent on available grant funding.
