. Purpose of Services The Landscape Conservation and Advance Mitigation Planning (LCAMP) Program promotes large-scale conservation to preserve areas of high-quality habitat and prioritize habitat connectivity. Landscape conservation plans identify high-priority conservation areas and encourage early strategizing for mitigation in advance of impacts. This type of advance planning results in a more efficient permitting approach for development projects, as well as protection, enhancement and restoration of larger, quality habitat areas. The California Department of Fish and Wildlife is not the only agency managing this type of program. The objective is to hold three 4.5-day trainings to gain knowledge and training on the best practices for similar advance mitigation and conservation programs around the country and at the federal level, and best practices for working with other programs and agencies aimed at advance/compensatory mitigation conservation and protection, specifically conservation and mitigation banking. This course must cover topics such as federal statutes, real estate and financial matters related to advance/compensatory mitigation conservation including fee programs, long-term management and monitoring, as well as the roles and responsibilities of those involved with conservation and mitigation programs.
