The Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) Golden Ring Maintenance Facility is soliciting lump sum bids for mold remediation and cleaning and putback at the Administration’s Rout 7 Salt Structure Crews Quarters located at 8620 Philadelphia Road Rosedale, Maryland 21237 as the result of a ruptured water line. The location consists of an open Crews Quarters area, 2- bathroom areas, and an electrical room. The area incorporated into this Work Plan consists of the remediation of the interior of a 675sq ft. Based on an inspection and the fungal spore Lab results (elevated levels of Aspergillus Penicillium, cladosporium and Stachybotrys spores were found in air samples taken on Friday, February 14, 2025, and the following was determined: • During a site inspection it was found that domestic water had ruptured above the ceiling plenum of the kitchen area and electrical room that resulted in water damaged gypsum board walls, wall insulation, pipe insulation, ceiling insulation and VCT flooring tile. The domestic water has since been repaired in addition to the water damaged material removed. • The Administration has asbestos and lead paint data reports that will be available to the awarded contractor. The objectives of the remediation are to eliminate/remove microbial reservoirs, remove contaminated building materials/components, thoroughly clean the air and all surfaces in the affected area, and protect the health of remediation personnel and building occupants. The remediation contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, services, employee training, waste transport and disposal necessary to perform the microbial and cleanup work in accordance with these specifications and all applicable Federal, State, and local government regulations.
