1. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, materials, and supplies necessary to collect, remove, recover recyclables and properly recycle/dispose of all refuse generated at the Staunton District Lot. All refuse will be placed in the same container and it will be the Contractors responsibility to remove all recyclable products. 2. Refuse generated will include, but not be limited to small tree limbs, wood chips, bagged and loose household trash, steel, furniture, and white goods. Furniture and white goods will not be broken down or disassembled. They will be discarded as is. 3. Containers shall remain on the premises at all times. This shall be accomplished by the refuse being dumped onto another truck or other containers being brought to replace the containers being hauled away. CONTAINER REQUIREMENTS: 1. The Contractor shall provide two (2) trash containers which are thirty (30) cubic yards or greater and are constructed of metal capable of holding heavy trash. They need to be designed to protect contents from animals, rodents, wind and wet weather. The contractor shall clean/disinfect containers as needed to maintain a healthy and odor free environment. The cost providing the containers will be paid by the month for each container at the contracted price (see line 1 of the pricing schedule). 2. The Containers shall be covered and have side loading capabilities with one unit having 2 additional 20” x 60” doors on one side and 3 - 20” x 30” doors on the other side which will be used near the shop. The second container shall be standard with 3 - 20” x 30” doors on each side. 3. The Contractor shall locate each container at a site designated by the VDOT Contract Administrator. The VDOT Contract Administrator reserves the right to change container locations at any time during the contract period without an additional charge. 4. The Contractor shall maintain the condition of the containers material to be free from leakage and provide substitute containers when maintenance or repairs are being performed. The Contractor shall exchange containers at no additional cost, at the VDOT’s sole discretion, if VDOT determines containers are damaged or unusable. 5. VDOT reserves the right to add or delete containers, as needed.
