The scope of work includes the renovation of eight classrooms within the Medical Science Building. These include the following rooms: E351, 2351, 3051, 3351, 4051, 5051, 6051, 7051. Classrooms will be off-line but the building will be occupied for the duration of the work. Detailed drawings will be issued to short-listed firms during the RFP stage. Testing and sampling for hazardous materials will be completed by the University. Abatement (as needed), demolition, and renovation of spaces will be completed by the CMR. For classrooms E351, 3051, 3351, 4051, 5051, 7051 the tiered lecture-style seating configuration and structure shall remain. Occupant capacity and room areas shall remain unchanged. For classrooms 2351 and 6051 the existing tiered flooring structure shall be removed as well as the demolition of six adjacent spaces, including 2052, 6351, 6354, and portions of shaft spaces 2090 and 4090 and 6090. This will provide expanded square footage for rooms 2351 and 6051, creating a new flat flexible classroom configuration in each space. Additionally, technology enhanced active learning (TEAL) infrastructure shall be installed in both rooms. This will provide the ability for future active learning configurations within the spaces.
