The City of Malibu is requesting written qualifications from Public Safety Patrol Service Providers for the provision of comprehensive Public Safety Patrol Services throughout the City neighborhoods and areas of Pacific Coast Highway impacted by the Palisades Fire. The professional services provider will be required to perform the following: 1) Conduct Public Safety Patrol Services in neighborhoods impacted by the Palisades Fire and areas within the resident and contractor-only closures, including the neighborhoods of Big Rock, Calle del Barco, Las Flores, La Costa, Rambla Vista/Pacifica, Carbon Canyon, and along the stretch of the Pacific Coast Highway within the burn area. 2) Coordinate with City staff and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department to develop coverage schedules to maximize effectiveness and prevent duplication of effort. 3) Conduct routine check-ins with the City’s Public Safety Department to provide an overview of criminal activity, community behavior, traffic, and other concerns occurring within the patrol areas. 4) Contact the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, as needed, to respond to criminal activity in the patrol areas, including theft, arson, vandalism, and more. 5) Contact the City’s Parking Enforcement Team, as needed, to respond to illegal parking that poses public safety hazards. 6) Participate in community meetings, as needed, to provide insight into public safety patrol coverage and gain knowledge about areas where additional patrols will be required. 7) Be available to the City’s Public Safety Department, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, and Los Angeles County Fire Department and Paramedics to respond to requests for service during operation periods, which include scaling up or scaling down patrol coverage.
