Vehicle Requirements: • Model Year: Vehicles must be late-model, no more than two (2) model years old. • Mileage: Vehicles must have fewer than 25,000 miles at the commencement of each rental period. • Condition: Vehicles must be in excellent mechanical and cosmetic condition, free of defects. • Types: a wide variety of vehicle types must be available, including but not limited to sedans, SUVs, and pickup trucks. • Equipment: Vehicles must include standard safety features (airbags, ABS, etc.) and be equipped with functional air conditioning and heating. Rentals must have tinted windows. Tinting done at the proposer's expense. Rental Terms: • Rental Period: Month-to-month agreement with the option for the City of New Haven to discontinue at any time with a 30-day written notice. • Unlimited Exchanges: Unlimited vehicle exchanges are permitted throughout the rental period, with minimal downtime. • Mileage: Unlimited mileage. Out-of-state travel for investigations or training is permitted without additional charges. • Maintenance: Preventive maintenance (oil changes, tire rotations, etc.) is included in the rental price. • Towing: The proposer is responsible for arranging and covering all costs associated with towing services for any rented vehicle. • Invoicing: Monthly invoicing. Security and Confidentiality: • Undercover Use: The proposer acknowledges that the vehicles will be used for undercover investigations and surveillance. • Confidentiality: The proposer must ensure total confidentiality regarding the use and users of the vehicles. • Data Security: The proposer must guarantee the security of any data related to the rental agreement and vehicle usage. Vehicle Modifications: • Electronic Equipment: The City of New Haven reserves the right to install electronic equipment at its own expense, provided such installation causes no permanent damage to the vehicles. • Alterations: No permanent alterations to the vehicles are permitted without prior written consent from the proposer.
