BID ITEMS #1 and #2 ANNUAL ABSORPTION CHILLER EQUIPMENT SERVICE FOR SPRING START-UP (POWERHOUSE BUILDING) Start machine, check purge rate, unit operation, and control calibration. Check chilled water system for air; when required, assist agency personnel in the removal of air. Check tower for cleanliness, water flow, scale, and appropriate water treatment. Provide auxiliary vacuum pump, when required, to remove excess amounts of air. Check purge unit operation and oil level. Check pump motor current, voltage, and record readings. Clean magnetic strainer. Check machine vacuum. Review operating procedures, logging, etc. with STATE personnel. Take complete operating log (pressures, temperatures, levels, voltage, amperes, etc.). Make any required adjustment to levels, pressures, or controls. Check cooling tower for condition, operation, and needed maintenance. Check chilled and condenser water pumps. Check operation of purge system. Check oil in purge vacuum pumps. Check operation of steam system. Check operation of all safety controls located outside of machine control panel. Check and review STATE’s operating logs with STATE representative to discuss operation of machine. Clean absorption pump strainer. Report chiller, cooling tower of system problems to STATE Plant Services Director or its designee. Collect samples of refrigerant and lithium bromide for laboratory analysis. Furnish and install inhibitors per laboratory recommendations. Check condition of motor starter. Make necessary adjustments to machine to reach outgoing water temperature of approximately 45°F. Tighten terminals in electrical panel.
