1. Meet with City staff at critical stages throughout design. 2. Perform field and topographic surveys. 3. Coordinate with other City utilities and private utility owners. 4. Perform a traffic study SW 45th – Gage to Cambridge – to determine if turn lane is warranted and to determine safety measures (if any are necessary) for the traffic pedestrian crossing at Berkshire Country Club. The turn lane analysis must account for future developments and heavy traffic volumes on 45th at the entrance to Topeka Baptist Church during Sunday mornings. Additionally, the entrance traffic at Berkshire Golf Club shall be accounted for during popular golf times and season. 5. Design SW 45th if there are any road geometry changes 6. Design a sidewalk/shared-use path along SW 45th – Gage to Cambridge, including replacement or extension of the drainage structure at Colly Creek. 7. Construction Administration & Construction Inspection of the Sidewalk/Shared-Use Path 8. Coordinate and cooperate with the developments if and as they move forward with their project. 9. Perform investigative soil borings. 10. Prepare temporary easement, permanent easement, and/or right-of-way descriptions and documents as necessary. Manage and direct any deeds to be filed and purchases to be made in 2025 or early 2026. 11. Identify any utility conflicts and coordinate relocations to be done in 2025 or early 2026. 12. Develop construction phasing and traffic control plans to carry traffic during construction. 13. Develop and submit conceptual drawings (30% complete) with an estimate of probable construction costs (EPCC). 14. Develop and submit field-check drawings (60% complete) and an updated EPCC. 15. Facilitate two (2) public meetings: the first to be held after field-check drawings are complete to introduce residents to the project and gather input; the second to be held after the bid letting, but prior to construction. 16. Develop and submit office-check drawings and project manual (90% complete) and an updated EPCC. 17. Develop and submit final drawings, project manual, invitation to bid, bid form, and a final EPCC for the purpose of bidding the project. 18. Respond to questions from prospective bidders as necessary. 19. Prepare addenda as necessary. 20. Prepare a tabulation of bids and make a recommendation of award for construction.
