1. This project consists of the Contractor providing all labor, equipment, materials, supplies, insurance, etc., necessary to replace rotted wood columns at shelters #702, #703, #705A&B, #706A&B, #707A/B, #708 (thirteen shelters) at the Pickall Area within – Patapsco Valley State Park, 8125 Johnny Cake Rd Elkridge, Baltimore County, MD 21227. 2. The proposed project shall include but is not limited to the following: Column Repair: Provide temporary support for shelters during post replacement. b. Replacing of one-hundred and sixty-two (162) Total 5”x 7”x 7 1/2’(h), and twenty-four (24) Total 5”x8”x 8’(h), pressure-treated timber posts. Replacement timber posts are to be mechanically fastened to slab with new galvanized steel plates and brackets. b. Installing one-hundred and sixty (160) Total 6” x 6” horizontal header timbers approximately 8’ long at underside of roof deck between columns. c. Installing two-hundred and eighty-four (284) Total 6” x 6” diagonal braces approximately 3’- 6” long between alternate columns and horizontal header timbers. d. Installing fifty-two (52) Total 6” x 6” diagonal braces approximately 3’- 6” long installed at end columns and existing beams. e. The Contractor shall be responsible to remove all excess materials and debris associated with this project. f. All materials and debris that are to be disposed of shall become the property of the Contractor. The Contractor shall be responsible for the removal and proper disposal of all debris off of State property.
