The State is issuing this Request For Application to support ongoing training opportunities for professionals working with Service Members, Veterans, and their Families (SMVF), aiming to enhance their skills and expertise within the behavioral health field. These training initiatives seek to strengthen the workforce by emphasizing active learning methods, including hands-on experiences, interactive sessions, real-life challenges, and role-playing activities. Virtual workshops will apply adult learning theory and innovative educational techniques to deliver effective and outcomeoriented in-service training. The Advanced Behavioral Health Training for Service Members, Veterans, and their Families (SMVF) focuses on topics that deepen the understanding of the unique behavioral health challenges faced by SMVF populations. It prioritizes the development of competencies to address barriers to care, reduce stigma associated with behavioral health issues, and navigate ethical considerations in service delivery. Additionally, the training explores strategies to foster resilience and encourage health-seeking behaviors, ensuring a holistic approach to supporting the well-being of Service Members, Veterans, and their Families.
