Project Description The Board of Trustees of Southern Illinois University governing Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) hereby requests letters of interest and statements of qualifications for professional architectural and engineering services from firms who have experience in higher education residential housing design and construction. SIUE is planning a renovation, demolition, and new construction project for Cougar Village Apartments. Architecture/Engineering firms interested in submitting their qualifications should have demonstrated knowledge, experience, and expertise with higher education facilities, specifically residential facilities. The project designers and any required sub-consultants will be responsible for developing a design, total project budget, and a schedule for this project. University Housing engaged a firm to complete a feasibility study in fall 2023 and have developed a preliminary program for this project. This will be a multi-phase project. The initial phase of the project will include the removal of existing apartment buildings and parking lots, the renovation of existing apartment buildings, and the construction of a new residential facility with office and community spaces.
