4. Description of Services: a. The Contractor will provide, on an as-needed basis, various sizes and types of heavy, medium, and light equipment for the maintenance and repair of the State Water Project and its facilities as requested by DWR. The equipment listed in Exhibit B, Attachment I, is not all inclusive and the Contractor will make available all equipment requested by DWR. DWR will provide all necessary supervision over the usage of rented equipment. b. The Contractor will deliver the requested equipment to the jobsite, as identified by DWR, and pick up the equipment upon DWR’s notification to do so. DWR may, at its option, pick up and return the equipment. The Contractor will respond verbally to DWR as to the availability of equipment within 24 hours. During normal operating conditions, the Contractor will provide the equipment within 48 hours of initial request from DWR. At the time of request, DWR will provide an internal number referred to as a PMO (Plant Maintenance Order). The PMO must be referenced on each invoice in association with the equipment requested. During emergencies the Contractor will provide the equipment within four (4) hours of DWR’s request. DWR will attempt to give the Contractor as much advance notice as possible. All equipment provided under this contract must be tier 4 emission compliant. c. The Contractor must obtain a signature and date from DWR staff when equipment is delivered. Signature from the front gate guard does not constitute a valid signature. DWR will make every effort to have an employee available. d. Each piece of equipment must be equipped with a 10-lb. fire extinguisher and an operation manual. Equipment that does not meet specifications described in this contract will be rejected and no payment will be made for preparation or delivery of equipment.
