The project includes renovations to the existing auditorium space (10,000 sqft), an exercise addition (7,000 sqft) on the northeast side of the facility, and an infill of four classrooms (1,800 sqft) along the west side of the facility. Site work must be coordinated to ensure continual access to and operation of Nixa Junior High School. This site work will involve the demolition and reinstallation of paved drive aisles as well as new sidewalks, pedestrian paving, landscaping, and an entry canopy. The auditorium renovation will impact the existing performance space, lobby area, and restrooms. Light demolition of existing interior walls with new floor, wall, and ceiling finishes will be installed throughout the three spaces. The scope of work will also include improvements to existing mechanical, electrical, and audio/visual systems. The exercise addition will be a single-story, slab-on-grade construction with a steel-frame structure, masonry walls and exterior finish. Fire separation between the new addition and existing facilities will be required. The remaining renovation piece is the completion of four shelled classrooms.
