Phase I: Practitioner Training & Capacity Building Respondents should provide a plan that illustrates and focuses on increasing program capacity among practitioners in the community. Respondents should provide gambling harm reduction interventions through training and creation of programmatic outreach materials. This encompasses trainings provided to case managers, direct service staff, social workers and others that are tailored to direct trauma informed harm reduction interventions and services to individuals in need. Trainings will help practitioners identify and screen for gambling addictions and other related risk factors such as alcohol addictions, mental health disorders, and other challenges that require other wraparound services. Phase II: Outreach Respondents should implement a referral process to receive referrals to the program and services from the City and other community organizations working with individuals facing gambling addictions. Respondents will incorporate a streamlined model to conduct outreach in collaboration with partners and direct service staff in order to reduce the stigma associated with receiving support for gambling and substance use dependencies. Outreach will include direct in-person community gathering spaces where gambling takes place and the dissemination of printed outreach multilingual materials in locations that are publicly accessible. Phase III: Wraparound Services & Economic Stability Respondents should identify and assist clients with wrap around services including financial literacy, workforce development, and mental health services. Respondents should be able to have the knowledge and experience to connect clients to services such as financial education, enrolling and maintaining health insurance, accessing mental health services, immigration legal services, ESOL and other education opportunities, and much more. Wrap around services will help to support low-income individuals and families that encounter problem gambling access resources and information to be able to support the improvement of their economic stability and overall wellness.
