Please note: This is a Sole Source Notification. The DOER intends to issue a grant, funded by the MVRF, to National Grid, for an amount not to exceed $2,000,000, so that MVRF funding can be integrated into the Mass Save programs that serve small businesses. MVRF funds will be utilized only for qualifying projects and associated costs in the three communities. Of the MVRF funding granted to National Grid, it is expected that at least 80% ($1,600,000) will be granted to qualifying projects that help market rate residents or small businesses reduce energy costs and carbon footprint (i.e., National Grid will provide these funds to approved contractors working on approved projects), and no more than 20% ($400,000) of the MVRF funds granted to National Grid will be utilized for other costs associated with implementing approved projects such as project management. Contracting with National Grid will provide funding for efficiency, electrification and barrier mitigation measures above and beyond what Mass Save will provide, thus enabling more buildings to become more efficient or install heating systems that don’t use fossil fuels.
