A. The Contractor must provide the following: 1. FOUR (4) CUSTOM FABRICATED ALUMINUM BEAR TRAPS 2. THREE (3) CUSTOM FABRICATED STEEL BEAR TRAP TRAILERS A. Four (4) Custom Fabricated Aluminum Bear Traps – Specifications • Aluminum drum trap will be temporarily mounted to the steel trailer and removable to allow deployment of multiple traps by a single trailer. (Fig. 1 and Fig. 2). • Aluminum drum trap will consist of a 29.5” ID diameter, 90” long, 1/8” thick aluminum culvert / cylinder. Fig. 1 and Fig. 2 • Overall trap height is 48 ½” on the trap door end and 32” on the non-operable end of trap. (Fig. 2). • The frame at the trap door end is approximately 48 ½” high, 30 ¼” wide. (Fig. 2, Fig 5). Left and right supports fabricated using 1” x 1” x 1/8” angle and 1 ¼” x 1 ¼” x 1/8” angle to create channels which allow trap door to slide freely, vertically (1/2” gap). (Fig. 8). Bottom mount fabricated with inside radius to fit profile of cylinder. Narrowest portion of the bottom bracket minimum 3”. (Fig. 5). Two 8” x 2 ¾” OD x ¼” thick cylinders mounted left and right sided. A handle must be welded near the top of the closed trap door (31 ¾” x 6 ¼” x 1 ½” x ¼”) (Fig. 4). • Trap door must be rectangular in shape, 29 ½” wide x 31 ½” tall with welded 1 ¼” x 1 ¼” x 1 ¼” x 1/8” thick channel at the top and bottom to prevent buckling or bends in the door material to create the same specifications above. (Fig. 9). Top horizontal angle must allow ½” gap for vertical trap door movement. (Fig. 8). 1” x 2” x 3/16” u-bolt mounted in center of top horizontal angle face. (Fig. 9). • Drum trap to include a total of four (4) lifting supports/S-hook tie downs (these will be provided by DNR ) (Fig. 13). Two (2) mounted 23 2/4” inches behind the cylinder end on the trap door end. Two (2) mounted 10 ½” inches from cylinder end on tongue end of trailer. Total space between lifting supports is approximately 56”. (Fig. 3). Use grade 8 bolts and nuts to mount through the trap.
