General 1. GCDWR has no manufacturer preference, other than the replacement units should meet the design criteria and be able to be installed in the existing basin with minimal structural modifications. 2. The intention is to replace the twenty-four (24) inclined plate settler packs with packs that can be installed within the existing basins as shown on US Filter Drawing LFP1- 101300.Replacement packs are to be supported using the existing structural steel beam supports, which will be rehabilitated by Others under a separate contract prior to installing the plate packs. 3. Equipment manufacturers should design the plate packs supports and anchoring using the existing steel supports and basin configuration. Shop drawings showing locations and details of anchor bolts are to be provided to enable any holes to be predrilled prior to recoating the steel elements and installation of the equipment. 4. The manufacturer should provide confirmation that the existing structural support arrangement has been checked and is adequate for the replacement equipment. All structural calculations should be stamped by a professional engineer in the State of Georgia and made available to the GCDWR if requested. 5. Equipment manufacturers should provide all structural support/bracing elements and materials necessary for the proper installation, support and performance of the new equipment with exception of any anchor bolts to be drilled into the existing concrete walls and the existing steel supports. Concrete anchor bolts should be supplied and installed by the installation Contractor in accordance with the manufacturer’s requirements. 6. If required, the Owner should facilitate a post bid inspection of one of the existing basins to enable the manufacturer to undertake any onsite measurements necessary for the design and support of the replacement equipment prior to preparing the shop drawings. Note that the basins are considered a confined space and manufacturers will be required to provide appropriate PPE for their staff. Confined space access and monitoring equipment will be provided by the Owner. 7. Drawings of the basin and shop drawings of the existing inclined plate settlers manufactured by US Filters are provided in Attachment 2 to assist the manufacturer in the design of the replacement equipment
